This Privacy Policy describes how Scout ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with Scout for Claude Code ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Data Processing

Scout for Claude Code is designed with privacy at its core. The App processes Claude Code session data stored locally on your device (in ~/.claude/projects/). All data processing occurs entirely on your machine. The App does not collect, transmit, or store your usage data on external servers.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your Claude Code session data, token usage, or conversation content
  • We do not collect analytics or telemetry from the App
  • We do not track your activity within the App
  • We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies

3.2 Data We May Collect

When you purchase a license or subscription, the following information may be collected by our payment provider:

  • Email address
  • Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider)

When the App validates your license, minimal information may be exchanged with our licensing server:

  • License key
  • App version

4. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used solely to:

  • Process and manage your subscription or license
  • Verify your license status
  • Send important notices about the App (e.g., security alerts, updates)
  • Respond to your support inquiries

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Payment processing: Your payment details are handled by our third-party payment provider to process transactions
  • Legal obligations: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • With your consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share information

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Since the App processes data locally on your device, your Claude Code usage data never leaves your machine.

7. Data Retention

  • Local data: Your Claude Code session data remains on your device and is never transmitted to us. You retain full control over this data.
  • Account data: If you have a subscription, we retain your account information for the duration of your subscription and as required by applicable law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete your personal information
  • Port your data to another service
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data

9. International Data Transfers

If personal data is transferred outside the EU, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
