1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Scout for Claude Code ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Scout for Claude Code is a macOS desktop application that monitors and displays usage statistics for Claude Code, including token consumption, session activity, and estimated API costs. The App processes data locally on your device and does not transmit your data to external servers.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or professional purposes. This license does not allow you to:
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Modify or create derivative works based on the App
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring your system meets the minimum requirements (macOS 14.0 or later)
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your license key, if applicable
- All activity that occurs under your license
5. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks connected to the App
- Distribute malware or harmful code through or alongside the App
- Circumvent any licensing or access restrictions
6. Data and Privacy
The App reads Claude Code session data stored locally on your device (in ~/.claude/projects/). All data processing occurs entirely on your machine. The App does not collect, transmit, or store your data on external servers. No personal information is gathered through the use of the App.
License validation may require periodic network requests to verify your subscription status.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its original content, features, functionality, design, and branding, is and remains the exclusive property of Scout, protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
8. Subscriptions and Payments
Certain features of the App may require a paid subscription. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing are managed through our payment provider. By subscribing, you agree to the applicable pricing and renewal terms presented at the time of purchase.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. Cost estimates displayed by the App are approximations and should not be relied upon for billing purposes.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scout shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
